Wotnware is deliberately temporary. In the background, our system checks every minute for what has expired and hides it from the map right away – no further interaction is possible after that.
Time limits at a glance
| Content | Stays visible for | What extends it? |
|---|---|---|
| Map event | Starts with 1 hour | Upvotes and a person’s first comment within 24 hours; downvotes shorten it. |
| Comment or reaction on an event | 1 hour | Nothing |
| Discussion | 7 days after the last post | Every new post or reply |
| Reviewed place | 365 days after the last review | Every new review |
| Direct message | 24 hours after sending | Nothing; every message has its own clock. |
| System message | 30 days | Nothing |
| Unused upload | 1 hour | Nothing |
A picture or voice message you actually attach to an event, review or discussion shares its fate from then on and stays around just as long. Only an upload attached to nothing cleans itself up after an hour.
Events are shaped by the community
A new event starts with a one-hour countdown. An upvote adds an hour, a downvote takes one away. Each person’s first comment within 24 hours adds an hour too. You can cast only one vote per event within 24 hours – but you can change or withdraw it any time, and the earlier effect is then cleanly reversed.
If a comment is deleted or hidden by its creator, its extension no longer counts. When the countdown reaches zero, the event disappears immediately, along with all its comments, reactions, pictures and reports. The one exception: events our team explicitly marks as permanent never expire, and neither upvotes nor downvotes change that.
What goes with it when content is deleted
When an event, discussion or reviewed place expires, every related post, reply, review, reaction, report and attached file is deleted too. Images and voice messages aren't just removed from view – they're deleted from the server as files.
Simply viewing content never extends anything. And if you ever delete your account: you're signed out immediately, and your account along with all related content is permanently removed within 24 hours.
